With Allah's grace, Yaseen Foundation developed a compassionate service to help our community members ease the difficult moment of losing a loved one and fulfill our Islamic duties. Post funeral services, Yaseen provides its facilities to Yaseen Members to host condolence receptions.

AlhamduliAllah, we offer Yaseen Members use of the Yaseen Belmont Masjid or Yaseen Burlingame Center to host condolence receptions for one night up to three hours free of rental charges. We only request a deposit to cover staff and cleaning at cost. This is on condition the deceased is an immediate family member (grandparent, parent, sibling, children) of the host (must be an active member of Yaseen Foundation.

Facility use terms apply. The host of the reception receives the current terms and signs an agreement before the condolence reception. Mind you hosting a condolences reception at the YBC require staff to handle the setup, tear down, and cleaning.

Under current condolences use terms only water, coffee and dates are allowed indoors. Food is prohibited at Yaseen condolence receptions until further notice.

Booking a Condolence Reception

الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُواْ إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

Please check with ec@yaseen.org for availability before making an announcement. The event can only be confirmed after verifying availability of staff. This is often challenging to do on the same day. Hence we recommend that the community condolences be scheduled for the second day.
Please provide the start time of the event and ensure that guests leave by the end of the allocated time (3 hours) so that staff can begin housekeeping and end their shift on time.
Please indicate if the event will include men and women and the expected number of attendees to allocate space accordingly. Per current use policy, our largest two YBC rooms Noor and Salaam can host up to 40 and 100 people respectively. At the Masjid we can host up to 10 in the women's room, 10 in the library and 40 in the Musalla.

Applications need to be completed and deposit paid the day before the start of the event. Payment can be made on yaseen.org by credit card or by check written to Yaseen Foundation.
